The EUHERITAGE project is a continuation of the activities to which the Network of Small European Cultural Towns "I Care for Europe" has been committed since its foundation in 2013, with the aim of raising awareness of the positive contributions that cultural heritage brings to sustainable development, a sustainable future, the promotion of peace, cultural diversity, social inclusion and intercultural dialogue between EU and non-EU citizens. Currently, the Network consists of 8 local communities (Aquileia, Bač, Čapljina, Piran, Rab, Rakovica, Stolac, Tarcento) from 5 countries. These small local communities have preserved their local cultural and natural heritage, already declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites and/or Heritage of European Importance. The Network is open to other small European local communities with similar characteristics.
The project foresees the International Event in Stolac (Bosnia and Herzegovina) in October 2025 with the direct participation of about 310 representatives of all 8 local communities involved, making them real actors on the European stage, as they will be directly involved in activities (general meetings, round tables and seminars for stakeholders, “Heritage Walk” sightseeing of local cultural and natural values not only with the help of expert's data but also the life experiences of local population, multicultural performace of folklore dance and singing groups) so they will:
